Let Your Joy
Lead You to Healing
What are your joys? Gardening, traveling, singing, playing the piano? Mine include yoga, dancing, and music. Yoga is not only a joy for me; it is one of my self-healing practices, along with meditation and play. Spending time each day in one, if not more, of our joys is where healing often occurs.

"CRADLE YOGA"
Studio
Experience all the benefits of yoga - and more! We begin with gentle arm and leg stretches, using only the resistance of our own body weight against the cradle, safely protecting the back. Next, we lengthen and strengthen our neck and shoulders, releasing tension and stress many of us carry in that area. We also target the core and upper body, strengthening muscles we didn’t even know we had!
Then we enter the cradle, a 12 foot long, 9 foot wide stretchy silk-like fabric, creating a secure and playful see-through cocoon of comfort. Just sitting in a pouch pose feels soothing and serene, allowing ourselves to easily let go of tension and stress. We also take time to rest and relax between poses, slowly building up mental and physical stamina and strength.
Cradle Yoga has been proven to release stress-reducing hormones by activating the pituitary gland in the back of the brain, generating a “natural high” you can actually see in your eyes before leaving class. Many students remark that they’ve never felt so relaxed and alive at the same time. And that they feel like a kid again. It’s an absolutely exhilarating, yet totally relaxing, experience.
Students often bring a camera for pictures of themselves and each other in fun, flexible yoga poses they can share with their friends and loved ones. Plus they can see just how much more they are physically able to do using the cradle, safely and confidently, that they were unable to do in a traditional mat yoga practice.
Please bring a bottle of water (and a camera, if you want photos) to class.
